Whole grains, low fat meats, and lots of variety are the cornerstones to our meals. The healthiest versions of foods are chosen at all times. Theme units on nutrition help children to understand how important what we eat is to our health.
Possible fruits include, but are not limited to, kiwi, mango, pineapple (fresh or canned), peaches, plums, pears, raisins, craisins, whole berry cranberry sauce, apple, banana, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, watermelon, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapes (black, red or green), grapefruit, oranges, and many more! We try to eat a rainbow every day! All juice served is 100% fruit juice.
Possible vegetables include, but are not limited to, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, peas, corn, spinach (we eat it like a salad, yum!), lettuce, carrots, potatoes in different forms, sweet potatoes, tomatoes in all their forms, and so much more!
